"I’ve been in healthcare for over 11 years, mostly working in the emergency room, so I already knew nursing school wasn’t going to be easy.
What first got me interested in United Nursing College was actually people I worked with. A few of my coworkers had enrolled and kept saying really good things about it. That stood out to me, especially since it’s a newer school. Usually people are more hesitant, but they were confident in their experience, so I decided to look into it myself. Every time I reached out, the school was responsive and helpful. That gave me a lot of confidence moving forward—and honestly, that same level of support has continued since I started. One of the biggest things I was looking for was a program that understood real life. I needed something structured, but also a place where the staff and instructors actually cared. And that’s exactly what I found here. The environment feels supportive—almost like a community.
The program itself is definitely challenging, but that’s expected. What makes it manageable is the support behind it. The mix of lectures, lab days, and simulation really helps everything click. The simulation labs, especially, have been huge for me—you get to practice, make mistakes, and learn from them in a safe environment before working with real patients. That’s something you can’t really put a price on.
Something that surprised me along the way was how much I’ve improved as a test-taker. I’ve never been the strongest in that area, but with the amount of practice we get, you start to build confidence. It really prepares you for what’s ahead, especially the NCLEX.
Another thing I’ve appreciated is the student community. Everyone gets along, supports each other, and there’s really no drama. You build relationships not just in the classroom, but outside of it too, and that makes a big difference when you’re going through something as demanding as nursing school.
Now I’m in my third semester, getting close to graduating, and it’s honestly crazy how fast it’s gone. I remember walking in on the first day, and now I’m almost at the finish line. I’m proud of the decision I made to come here and everything I’ve been able to accomplish so far.
If someone is thinking about United Nursing College, I’d say just go for it. Give yourself the opportunity and see if it’s the right fit for you.
And for new students—stay organized and don’t be afraid to ask questions. You’re not expected to know everything. That’s why you’re here.
For me, I’m looking forward to finishing the program, getting licensed, and stepping into the field as a nurse. I’m especially interested in ICU and eventually pursuing anesthesia. This program has given me a strong foundation to build on, and I’m excited for what’s next."
